Joe Peters, Jr.

Joe Peters Jr., age 55 of Warren, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 19, 2014. He was born on Monday, December 29, 1958; the son of Joe and Janet (nee Harper) Peters. Joe graduated from Warren Woods High School in 1977. From there, he spent four years studying at R.E.T.S Electronics and continued on for several years at Macomb Community College in the Surgical Technicians Program. These endeavors, as well as Joe's thirst for knowledge led to a successful and rewarding career as a business owner of Dairy Boy Ice Cream in St. Clair Shores, Eastpointe and Marysville. One of Joe's most noble characteristics was being a man who sought to help the people of his community. He ran for Warren City Council in 2007 and 2011, and filed to run as a Republican for a seat on the Macomb County Board of Commissioners this year. Joe's greatest joy was his family. He was the beloved husband of Cathy for 33 years. They were married at St. Edmunds Catholic Church in Warren on March 21, 1981. He was the loving father of Jennifer (Frank Jendrzejewski), Stephanie (Ryan Kilburn), Pamela (Carey Mueller) and Jonathan (Jillian). Proud grandfather of Roman, Logan, Alexandrea, Lilly, Lyla, Gracie, and Colton. Dear brother of Joann Sequin, Jeri Thompson and Judy Handlon. Son-in-law of Gene and the late Patricia Kazmierczak. Brother-in-law of Gene Kazmierczak and the late Cindy Martines and Mary Rospierski. Good friend of Adam Reno. Adoring pet owner of two dogs; Sandy and Morgan, and three cats; Sawyer, Rian and Snickers. Joe is dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and community. Visitation for Joe will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 1:00pm until 9:00pm with a service at 8:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. Inurnment to take place on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Peters Family.
