John Robert Braithwaite of Grosse Pointe was born in Hamilton, Scotland April 2, 1939 and entered into rest September 27, 2013 at the age of 74. John was the loving husband of Jean and dearest father of Lynn (Mike) Seely, Mark (Debra), Leslie (Bill) Costello and Ryan. He was Grandfather of 6 grandchildren and brother of Margaret (John) McManus and son-in law of Theresa. Visitation Tuesday 1:30 pm to 9:00 pm with rosary 7:30pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods 48236. Funeral Wednesday at Saint Philomena Catholic Church, 4281 Marseilles, Detroit, 48224 Instate 10:00 am until time of mass 10:30 am. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
