John N. Fennell Sr. was born March 3, 1924 in Detroit and entered into rest June 5, 2014 in St. Clair Shores at the age of 90 years old. John was the beloved husband of Betty Jane for 67 years and dearest father of Betty (Earl) Gronos-Rondy, John (Charlotte) Fennell Jr., Linda (Mark) Dunn, Janet (Tom) Riopelle and Marty (Kelly) Fennell. He was grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and brother of Jerome (Hedy) Fennell. Visitation Saturday 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Sunday 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm with rosary at 3:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods 48236 Funeral Monday; instate 9:30 am until time of mass 10:00 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6021 Whitter, Detroit 48224. Father Duane Novelly will be officiating. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
