John Janowicz

Janowicz, John. Age 93. Died peacefully on August 15, 2024. A lifelong resident of Detroit and Hamtramck, John attended St Stanislaus High School in Detroit. He later received his bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University. After graduation, John had a successful 40-year career at Manufacturers Bank and Comerica Bank. John had a passion for European travel, especially for his parent’s native Poland. He was also a great philanthropist, supporting a number of non-profit organizations, especially St Hyacinth Catholic Church in Detroit, where he served as an usher for a number of years. Organizations supporting Polish culture and other catholic charities were also close to John’s heart. John leaves behind many good friends, who will miss his sense of humor and who admired his generosity. John is predeceased by his father John P Janowicz, his mother Josephine Janowicz and his brother Ted Janowicz. Services will be held at St Hyacinth Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 20th at 10:00 am, with viewing starting at 9:00 am. He will be interred at Mt Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
