John grew up in Detroit and lived across the street from the future love of his life JoAnn Frankowski. John would hang out at his friends house and wait everyday to watch JoAnn walk home from school. He fell in love at the tender age of 16. He won her over with his whit and sense of humor. They tied the knot with a life time of happiness and love on wed May 6, 1978, affectionately dated, 5-6-78 at the Church of The Immaculate Conception in Detroit.
John was a very hard worker and a "Johnny-Son of All Trades". At the drop of a hat he was willing and ready to help anyone in need. A true giving heart and he could fix anything. When he wasn't tinkering and fixing something he could be found fishing or bowling. He and JoAnn had season tickets to the Red Wings and loved supporting Detroit Sports and the University of Michigan Wolverines. John and JoAnn also shared a special love of banana pudding ice cream. John volunteered with the Goodfellows and worked the 1st Saturday of December every year at 9 Mile Road & Harper collecting monies for needy children and families. He and JoAnn would spend Christmas Eve collecting baskets from the St. Clair Shores Fire Department and delivering them to families. This made their hearts glow. John was a very giving man with a huge heart and many talents. He will be missed by many.
