John Edwin Lederman

John Lederman passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side on November 26, 2016. He was born on December 19, 1928 in Ferndale; son of Paul and Mary Louise (nee Rivard) Lederman. John was very devoted to his family and friends. He will be remembered for his quick wit and selfless nature. He was a talented musician eventually becoming the Minister of Music for the Archdiocese of Detroit. He worked as the music director for numerous churches over the years including Our Lady of Good Counsel, St. Peter in Harper Woods, Guardian Angels in Clawson, St. Peters in Mt. Clemens. John was devoted to his catholic faith and was an active member of St. Joan of Arc Church in St. Clair Shores. Mr. Lederman enjoyed traveling and his favorite trips were with his wife and daughter to Rome in 1987 and 1993. John was married to his beloved Florence for 40 years. She passed away on April 27, 2010. He was proud of and loved dearly his daughter Mary. He was the last surviving brother of Bernard, Harold, Reverend Paul, Mary Lou, and Frances. He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 7th at noon at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St Clair Shores. His family will receive guests after 11:00 am. Monsignor G. Michael Bugarin will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joan of Arc Church.
