John G. Metry was born August 24, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan and entered into rest November 18, 2017 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan at the age of age 73. John was the dearest beloved husband of Bernice and loving father John (Michelle) , Brian and Scott. He was the doting grandfather of of Matthew, Will, Aaron, Braden, Timothy and Ella. John had 39 years of service at Chrysler and was an active member of the UAW. Visitation Tuesday 2:00 pm-8:00 pm with Prayers 7:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods , Michigan 48236. Funeral Wednesday ; instate 10:00 am until time of service 11:00 am at St. George Orthodox Church, 2160 E. Maple Road, Troy, Michigan 48083 Very Reverend Joseph Antypas will be officiating.
