Libbie Fudim Uncle Pat was a man of many talents, he was creative, he was fun, he had a ready laugh, a deep Faith and like all good Irish men he knew how to tell a story. I can remember as a small child, probably before long term memory kicks in, being treated to Uncle Pats stories. I think it was a way to keep us quiet and entertained. We heard the stories at the Christmas parties and at the Family picnics. I remember the stories because they werent just stories, he would include us all in the story- he would look me in the eye and say Reggie, and look to my sister Mary Ann, brother Mike, cousins Timmy and Danny in turn and we were all stars of the story. Or maybe we were too scared to know what to do as we would, "watch for the hand in the leaves." He would ask us questions and Uncle Pat would smile and proceed to share stories of fun, mischief and in the case of "Sam the Butcher Man" complete terror. I learned well the art of storytelling and remember creating my own stories for my children Matt and Mandy. In the fine of art of participatory storytelling, they too became part of the story, child, problem solver and hero and heroine of their stories. I remember in later years, my daughter, now, Amanda saying in surprise to a friend, "Didnt your Mom tell you stories, where you were the hero of the story?" As her friend shook her head, No. I smiled, and thought not every one has been blessed with the gift of Uncle Pat who shared his love in stories. Our condolences to Pat's family. He was one of the good guys. We know you will all miss him greatly.

Our love and sincere sympathy to the whole Higgins "gang". We'll remember Pat's wonderful sense of humor, his delight in sharing stories and his love of life itself. Rest well,friend ... till we meet again.
