Joseph Maltese was born September 18th, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan to Frank and Madaline. Joseph passed away in Warren, Michigan at the age of 93. A true family man, Joseph adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He was a long time member of Weight Watchers and very faithful to the program. Enjoying whatever sporting event was on TV and bowling were among the many things Joseph enjoyed doing. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army; serving as a Rifleman in the Philippines and Japan during World War II, he truly sacrificed for his country. Also, Joseph was an active member in the Masons. Loving father of Madeline "Linda" (the late Robert) Szalanski, Ralph (Valerie) Maltese, and the late Frank (surviving wife Linda) Maltese. Cherished grandfather of Michelle (Sam) Buffa, Steven (Julie) Szalanski, Tony (Amy) Szalanski, Danielle (David) Osinski, Nicholas Maltese, and Jonathon Maltese. Dear great-grandfather of John, Matthew, Tommy, Emily, Amanda, Steven, Jack, Caiden, Mariah, and Dominic. Dear brother of three sisters and one brother. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105. Funeral services for Joseph will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 10:00 AM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd., at Masonic (13 Mile Rd.) in Warren.
