Judith Marie Kniffin, 90, of Harper Woods, Michigan died peacefully on December 4, 2021. Judy was the beloved wife of Wayne for 57 years. Cherished mother of Wendy (David) Ziskie, Lisa (Randy) Schwartz and Diana (Robert) Kortas. Loving grandmother of Elizabeth, Emily, Austin, Robert and Owen. She was predeceased by her parents Ronald and Marcella Krome, sisters Betty Krome and Ruth Rabaut and grandson Zachary.
Judy was born on November 5th, 1931 at Cottage Hospital in Grosse Pointe, MI. She attended St. Clare of Montefalco Grade School and went on to graduate from Dominican High School in 1949. She kept in touch with many of her Dominican girlfriends and enjoyed planning reunions.
Judy attended business school after graduating and went on to be an Administrative Assistant at a local plumbing company. She held a variety of Administrative Assistant and Office Manager positions over the years and was loved by her co-workers. Judy retired January 1, 1997.
Judy married Wayne Kniffin on October 13, 1962. They were married for 57 years and she lovingly cared for him until his passing in May of 2020. She was the proud mother of her 3 daughters and never missed an event when they were growing up. Once she retired she continued that giving spirit as a Beaumont League volunteer working at the Hospital Gift Shop.
Judy loved life and had such a warm and welcoming spirit. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She made holidays so special for family and her personal touches will be deeply missed this Christmas.
Judy and Wayne had so many great times with wonderful friends singing, bowling, golfing, playing tennis, playing cards and vacationing. They loved to entertain and were so much fun to be around. In recent years, Judy especially enjoyed playing Mahjong with her girlfriends.
Judy loved her faith. She enjoyed attending daily mass at St. Joan of Arc. She and Wayne made sure their daughters had a great Catholic education at St. Matthew and Dominican High School. We are forever grateful for her example of how to live a faith-filled life.
Our prayer is that you will always cherish your memories of our Mom however she touched your life. The best of her lives on in each of us.
There will be a mass at St. Joan of Arc at 10am on Saturday December 18, 2021 to celebrate her life. The mass will be live streamed and can be reached from this link livestream.stjoan.church.
