Judith was born on May 27, 1941, in Dearborn, Michigan, and is the daughter of Norene Mae and Kenneth Lee Townsend. She attended Fordson High in Dearborn and received a B.A. from the University of Michigan. While in college, she answered a call to a wrong number which lead to her meeting her best friend and husband of 61 years Xhafer (Jeff) Orhan.
After teaching and working in health care services as a young professional, Judi found her true passion for travel and helping others discover that same joy. In order to learn the business, she went to work for free as a travel agent and within a few years opened her own successful agency. Running Pointe Travel and 30-year career in the travel industry was only overshadowed by her success and love as a mother and grandmother, adoring her children and grandchildren.
Judi was happiest helping others create wonderful memories on trips she helped plan and travelling the world herself with family and friends. She always made room for anyone and loved to meet new people that quickly became friends. Judi also loved spending time with her family, and enjoying time on their boat, ScoJen.
Judi will be remembered for her unconditional love, kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. She touched the lives of so many through her friendships and community involvement.
She is survived by her husband Xhafer Orhan, children J. Scott Orhan and Jennifer O. Hudson (Tim), and grandchildren Jacob, Carly, Gwen, and Julia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norene and Kenneth Townsend.
A celebration of life service will be held on January 17, 2026, at 10:00am at Grosse Pointe
