Julia Sienkiewicz

Julia Sienkiewicz, age 97, passed away on November 6, 2012 in Okemos, Michigan. Julia was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on June 20, 1915 to the late Sophia and late Peter Mazur. Her adult life was spent in Michigan where she married Henry S. Sienkiewicz, Sr. on August 4, 1934 in Detroit. Henry preceded her in death in September 1987 after 52 years of marriage. Julia was a housewife who stayed home and raised her only son, Henry Sienkiewicz Jr. with her husband. They spent many years camping, fishing and spending time with family. She was a very good cook and excellent baker. Her grandchildren especially enjoyed her cookies and pies. Julia is survived by her four grandchildren, Suzanne(James) Slaga of Birmingham, Michigan, John(Rhonda) Sienkiewicz of Birmingham, Michigan, Craig(Julie) Sienkiewicz of Glendale, Arizona and Mark(Carey) Sienkiewicz of Bloomfield, Michigan; six great-grandchildren, Amy(Brad) Chamberlain of Lynchburg Virginia, Jeffrey(Fiance Tara Brink) Slaga of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jessica(Josh) Hilton of Carmel Indiana, Matthew Sienkiewicz of New York, New York, Paige Sienkiewicz of Lansing, Michigan and Alex Sienkiewicz of Glendale, Arizona; one great-great granddaughter, Charlotte Chamberlain; two half-brothers Edward(Barbara) Sobczak of Warren, Michigan and Walter Sobczak of Center Line, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry S. Sienkiewicz, Sr.; son, Henry S. Sienkiewicz, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Linda D. Sienkiewicz and three brothers and one sister. Funeral Service at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 11200 E. 12 Mile Road, Warren MI, Tuesday, November 13th 9:30am Instate. 10:00am Mass. Father John O'Keefe officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township. Friends may call before service time.
