

Grosse Pointe, MI – Karen Joan Mourad, 78, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at StoryPoint of Clinton Township. She was born June 29, 1947, in Caldwell New Jersey to Edward and Nell Harrigan. Karen married in 1968 to Anthony Edward Mourad and together raised three children. Karen graduated from Sacred Heart in Grosse Pointe. Karen was a homemaker and was instrumental in the operations of the A.E. Mourad Agency, she was a tireless volunteer, provided guidance in establishing the gift shop at Bon Secours Hospital in Grosse Pointe, an avid golfer and bowler, excellent cook, loved the holidays (especially Christmas), enjoyed her travels to Ireland and Greece and was a member of the St. Joan of Arc Church parish. Karen brought a refreshing and unique perspective to everything she touched; her home, her personal presentation, and more importantly, her connection with everyone around her. Always gracious, always proud of her Catholic Faith, her family and her Irish heritage, Karen's spirit, kindness and generosity will endure. Most treasured of all, Karen was a devoted mother, a wise counselor to her adult children and to her 5 grandchildren. She was greatly loved by her family and a friend to many, and will be missed beyond measure. Karen is predeceased by her sister Peg Cole and Mary Ann Boll and survived by her sister Kathy Devine, ex-husband Anthony Mourad as well as her 3 children: Peter Mourad (Kristen), Stephen Mourad (Heidi), and Molly Abraham (Michael) and her five grandchildren Michael Abraham, Anthony Abraham, Meghan Mourad, Matthew Mourad, and Mackenzie Mourad. A Mass to celebrate her life will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2026, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22412 Overlake St, St Clair Shores, MI 48080, with a brief visitation before the mass at 9:30am.
