Katharine Fuller Born October 10, 1917 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Charles Jahimiak and Marie Kubley. Died at her home in Grosse Pointe Woods on May 14, 2013. Survived by her children Kay Noel (Art Ferman), Stephen Fuller (Sue Markey) and Michael Fuller (Lisa), her granddaughters Cara, Janna, and Lydia, and her sister Virginia Diehl (Bruce). Kay taught secondary and high school English and theater from 1941 to 1968, then began a career with the Michigan Department of Social Services. In line with her love of theater and the arts, she was a founding member of the Grosse Pointe Chamber Music Society. She was an avid gardener, a talented seamstress, and her pie and cookie baking skills were greatly appreciated by family and friends. Kay was accomplished in the game of bridge, participating in multiple area groups and encouraging and instructing many new players. She continued to support education throughout her retirement, teaching literacy skills and volunteering annually with the local American Association of University Women book sale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to AAUW of Grosse Pointe, P.O. Box 36776, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236, specifying use for their scholarship fund. Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 10:00am until time of service 12:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods.
