Kathleen Murphy passed away Monday April 13, 2020 at the age of 81. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 17, 1939. She was a long time resident of St. Clair Shores, a friend to all animals especially cats, and enjoyed gardening and thrift shopping. She loved to travel and made trips to Ireland to visit relatives.
She started her career in the Wayne County Clerk's office, then moved to the Circuit Court Assignment Office where she worked for many years. A generous and caring friend, daughter, sister, and aunt. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Hoyt Stewart, her father Judge Thomas J. Murphy and her mother Marie H. Murphy, sisters Nancy Rockwell and Carol Murphy. She is survived by brother Robert Murphy and sister Maureen Murphy, sister-in-law Sharron Murphy and many nieces and nephews.
She was possessed of a fey spirit, reciting poetry, performing impromptu dances, and singing Irish tunes.
