Kathleen Mae Taggart (nee Salter), 91, went home to the Lord on Monday September 14, 2026. Kathleen was born on December 5th, 1934, in Detroit Michigan to James and Mary Salter (nee Jamrozy). She married the love of her life, Richard Taggart on July 25, 1955. Kathleen was a homemaker and mother.
She dabbled in the work field as a lunch lady and later on in life as a medical assistant at a nursing facility. Kathy loved to garden. She was known to have blossoming cone flowers and tall hollyhocks in a variety of colors. She would often make dolls out of the hollyhocks; a trick her father taught her when she was a child.
Kathy was an avid lover of animals; she never was without having a pet dog. She loved animals so much that she even let her son have a pet alligator. Kathy had a laugh that was contagious, often laughing at herself with some of the silly things she would say. Kathy always had an open door, warm hugs, and hot food.
Surviving is her daughter Michelle Accardo; son Michael Taggart; grandchildren Nicholas Accardo (Jolynn); Allison Accardo; Brooke Burtka (Matt); Tristan Taggart (Stephanie); Brendan Taggart; Gabriella Slanec (Michael); Greatgrandchildren Parker, Teagan, Taron, Victoria, and Emma. Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband Richard Taggart, daughter Sheryl Slanec, and son in law Jack Accardo.
Kathleen will have a private family mass and will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township Michigan.

A Funeral Service will be held at St Joan of Arc Parish Center, 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080, US, on September 17, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd, Michigan, MI 48038, US, on September 17, 2026, from 11:30 am to 11:45 am.
