Dear Suzanne and Tom, I just found out this morning about Kathryn's passing. This is such a close community, that I can't believe I didn't know anything about her illness. Kathryn was Mandy's (McInnes) regular Friday night babysitter for many years. We always remember her bringing a ton of school books with her to study. We will never forget the time when Ron jokingly asked what she would do if she ever got a "B" on a test. She quickly replied, "That will never happen". She was a wonderful role model for Mandy and for everyone she came in contact with. Be proud of what a wonderful person she was and how she unknowingly touched the lives of so many others. I have been blessed to have known many students and residents while teaching at Henry Ford Hospital. All of them are such brilliant and caring people. Kathryn was in that special group that had an inner charisma with flashes of competent compassion. She shared so freely and loved everyone she met. My kids and I would often pray for her and her family. She thanked them for that with chocolates. Their prayers did not go answered the way we wanted but like all tragedies there must be something here that is hard to fathom. Her most wonderful husband, children and family have lost something that can never be replaced. However, we can all share in the example with which she lived. We cannot control the way we will pass away but we can control our response. Kathryn had a courage and maturity that few of us have ever seen. I hope that the children will see all the symbols of their amazing mother's life. They will be all around her and they have a great dad and family to comfort them. Kathryn was called back way too early but as always she gave back more than she took from this world. The children are a beautiful legacy. God bless

Kathyrn was friends with our daughter, Sarah as they attended medical school together. My husband and I had met Kathryn on occasion and could see the light and fullness of love in her heart. She was a joy to be around. She will deeply be missed, but may cherished memories of Kathryn lighten Tim and his family's burden. We speak God's perfect comfort to the family and friends of Kathryn.
