Born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Keith was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Married for 43 years to his wife, Carolyn, he took great pride in the family they built together. He was a loving father to Lisa Kline (Evan), Jeff Kurtz (Nicole), and C.J. Kurtz (Maura), and a proud grandfather to Henry and Harper Kline. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every opportunity to watch them grow.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Walter Kurtz, and his parents-in-law, Milly and Louis Neuder. He is survived by his seven siblings, Kurt, Kevin, Kerri Sue Dougherty (Wade), Karl (Connie), Kyle (Sue), Kelly Montagne (Bill), and Kris (Cathe). He is also survived by his sister-in-law Sharon Bradow (James) and brother-in-law Louis Neuder, husband of the late Susan Neuder, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will miss him dearly.
A graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School and Western Michigan University, Keith earned a bachelor's degree in business. He started his career in the steel business before spending the last 35 years working as a service manager for the trucking industry, where he was known as a tremendous mentor and leader who shared his knowledge and supported those around him. He was also a proud Auxiliary Officer with the Grosse Pointe Woods Department of Public Safety for more than 20 years, giving his time in service to his community.
But one of Keith's greatest roles was being Dad and Grandpa. He could always be found cheering from the audience or the sidelines, supporting his children's dreams, and proudly showing up for every milestone, big or small.
Some of Keith's happiest moments were spent at The Farm, where he could often be found mowing the lawn, fishing, fixing tractors, or telling jokes around the bonfire. These simple moments, surrounded by family and the place he loved, created memories that will be treasured for generations. Keith had a way of bringing people together, sharing a laugh, and making ordinary days special.
Keith will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his generous spirit, and his sense of humor. Though he will be deeply missed, his love, laughter, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. A memorial service will follow immediately at 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or Santa's First Responders at www.santasfirstresponders.org.
Keith's greatest legacy is the family he loved and the countless lives he touched. He will be forever loved and never forgotten. As Keith would say, remember to always Choose Joy.
