Born on December 20, 1968 in Detroit, Michigan, to Catherine McCormick and the late Kenneth McCormick, Jeff grew up in Detroit and graduated from Benjamin O. Davis Aerospace Technical High School. He then worked at Detroit City Airport restoring World War II fighter planes before continuing his education, receiving a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and transitioning into his sales/marketing career.
Jeff had a gregarious personality and made people feel at ease. He was somewhat of an old soul who was well-versed on a variety of topics. Jeff had many hobbies: boating, small game hunting, gardening, cooking, old movies, music, classic cars, and politics, just to name a few. Jeff was an extremely devoted father and husband who had a very strong Catholic faith, particularly in his adult life. Jeff loved a good joke and his laugh was contagious. He will be missed by many. Nothing was more important in Jeff’s life than his Faith and Family.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Jill McCormick ; his two children, Erin Olivia and Emmitt Stephen; his mother, Catherine McCormick; his mother and father in-law, Susan and Richard Mulrenin; his two sisters, Bonnie Gunkel (Chuck-deceased), Vicki Hernandez (Danny); his two brothers, Scott McCormick (Shawn), Patrick McCormick; and his two sister in-laws Jeanette Wieske and Mary Mulrenin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and countless close friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM in A.H. Peters Funeral Home of Grosse Pointe (20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI). Rosary service will be at 7:00 PM.
