We just heard the news about Larry's passing and send our deepest condolences to his wife and kids. Larry did some painting in our home over the last few years, and he was THE BEST painter we ever had. We were getting ready to call him for another job when we heard he passed. Larry always had a smile and a positive attitude - he loved his work. He spoke about his great kids and it was so evident that he was happy in his life. He really made a difference in our home, and we were happy to know him the last few years - I imagine he made a HUGE impact in the lives of his family and friends, and we are so sorry for your loss.

We just heard about Larry's passing & would like to express our deepest condolences to Anna & all of his family & friends. The few times we spoke with him we knew what a nice person he was.

Larry was a great friend and a very talented home decorator. His smile, his positive attitude and his amazing work ethic will be missed. He was one in a million! God gave him to us as an example of how our lives should be led. Thank you Larry for sharing your life with us.

We would just once again like to pass on our condolences to the wonderful family of Larry. We will continue to hold you all in our thoughts and prayers. We thank you for letting us share this very important day with you and we thank your mother and father for bringing such a great person into this somewhat of a crazy world that we live in. There is no doubt that both Sherry and my lives are better because of having the pleasure of growing up as youngsters with Larry as a part of our lives. I already knew about the closeness and the love that Larry and his eight siblings have for each other, but after listening to Larry's brother, the Reverend Mike Geml give the service today, I couldn't help but wish that all families could experience what this family has. God bless each and every one of the Gemls and Larry, rest in peace my friend.

So very sorry to hear of Larry's passing away. His sister, Lynda, and I have been friends for many years--meeting in junior high back in the 60's. I remember all of her little brothers and what a busy household it was. My prayers are with all of you

So sorry to hear of the loss of my friend. Larry"s back yard was my home away from home growing up. so many good times. After high school our lives took us in different directions but we ran into each other last year and it was like we didnt miss a beat. Larry painted my house this past summer so we were able to sit on my deck and have a few beers together and reminisce. We talked about bowling and golfing together this summer. So sad we wont get that chance. Geml family, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.

God gives comfort in these sad but happy days

When I think of Larry, I see a bright smile, I hear him singing a Bee Gee song in that high voice,or telling me stories of his childhood. I remember how his face lit up when he told me how he met Anna and took the girls to the park when they were little. He spoke of the crazy things he did with his siblings and how much he loved and respected his mother and father. He loved coming home from a long day and enjoyed a cold beer and a Tiger game with Devin on his lap. He shared a hot dog, coke, and conversation with a little boy who also loved baseball as much as he did at a Lexington Legend game here in Kentucky. No matter where he was, he made friends. Larry brought laughter, love and happy memories to our lives. He was the best friend a person could have. I will miss him...but I will never forget him or the kindness he showed toward his fellow man. Christ truly lived in him. And for that reason...I am blessed to have called him my friend.

I was shocked and saddened when I learned of Larry's passing. I just saw Larry last Thursday on one of his jobs. We joked with each other, as we always did, and as I left him, we both said have a great weekend and see you next week. Little did either of us know. I will miss Larry's sense of humor and his beaming smile. My thoughts and prayers are with the Geml family

My Dearest Anna, I can not put on paper how sadden I feel. There is not a wall ,door,or a place at work or in my home that Larry did not touch. His smile , his kindness, his love for his family , words will never let you know what a wonderful person he was. I know in the next few days your family and friends will give you comforting words. We are so shocked and sadden of Larry's passing. It was always so much fun when the Geml family was around. I remember our parties for the Tigers pennant race. We always laughed when Larry and Mike got together. Good times and much love.

Every time I hear the song, Down Under by Men at Work and the line about the Vegetmite Sandwich I think about Larry and it makes me smile. Those days at Monkey Wards were some of the best! My Condolences to the Geml family. I am truly heartbroken to hear that Larry passed away. Some of the best times of my life was spent with Larry and his brothers playing sports and just hanging out together. Dear Anna and the entire Geml family, I cannot express enough my heartfelt sympathy to all of you. I am so saddened to hear this news. I used to work with Larry at Montgomery (Monkey) Wards. We worked together on the display department., with Dave (the Bear) Ramm. He always made me smile as he always had a smile on his face. I was so glad to see him on Facebook, and able to catch up after all these years. He was so happy with his life, but particularly proud of his family. Every time I hear the song, "down Under" from Men at Work, I can't help but think about Larry! Especially the following verse about the Vegemite sandwich. "Buying bread from a man in Brussels He was six-foot-four and full of muscles I said, "Do you speak-a my language?" He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich" I am just heartbroken for you all. The world has lost a bright spot!
