Growing up Lewis spent a lot of his free time engaging in different sports. When Lewis was 19 years old he was an extremely talented athlete. He won a Golden Glove under the lightweight class. He continued his athleticism into ice hockey, ice skating, and golfing. His life changed one night in 1953 at a dance in Windsor when he met the love of his life Theresa. They married and spent 67 cherished years together. He loved teaching his children everything he knew how to do. Thankfully, he knew how to do just about anything. His stance was to tackle everything and never walk away until you have figured it out. He would approach any building, electrical, plumbing or any other handyman projects and work until he completed them. When he was relaxing he would work on his landscaping and garden or sit on the porch and listen to the Detroit Tigers game over the radio.
He wasn’t a man of many words but to those who knew him his good nature and humor spoke volumes of the person he was. His story here on earth may have ended but his many stories of growing up on the farm in Canada, the big house on the hill, Comerica bank, hunting with dad & the many dances with grandma will live on. To a great man, father, uncle, grandfather & great-grandfather -Forever in our hearts you will live. Rest In Peace Grandpa! Lewis Stockwell 1929-2021
