Our world grew darker on May 2, 2026 when Logan Celeste Keller (Mayo) a beautiful daughter, devoted mother, and loving friend passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with heart disease at the age of 35.
Born on June 22, 1990, in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of Ms. Noel Mayo (Andrew Creamer) and Dr. Victor C. Mayo (Linda). Logan was known for her vibrant spirit, infectious laugh, and passion for horseback riding, swimming, music, pets, and gardening. She brought immense joy to people she met and her determination to never give up was an inspiration for everyone.
Logan attended St. Joan of Arc in St. Clair Shores, Ferry Elementary, Parcells Middle School and Grosse Pointe North High School in Grosse Pointe Woods where she graduated in 2008. After high school, she attended Eastern Michigan University and received a certification as a Dental Hygienist while working in Norfolk, VA. She was a member of the horseback riding team and swim team at the Grosse Pointe Hunt Club where she was awarded numerous medals for competing in those two sports.
In 2016, Logan was admitted to St. John Hospital in Grosse Pointe Woods because of tricuspid valve endocarditis complicated by sepsis that caused a collapsed lung, and kidney failure that required tracheostomy placement. She was transported by helicopter to the University of Michigan Hospital Ann Arbor where she was placed in the intensive care unit where she was given THE LAST RIGHTS TWICE. While Logan was in a coma on life support for many weeks- the medical staff miraculously were able to diminish the sepsis, and the next phase of recovery was placed on Logan’s ability to walk and function through intense physical and occupational therapy. LOGAN’S MOTTO- “DON’T EVER GIVE UP!” was put to a true test of life and because of her strong will, determination and faith in God was able to overcome the obstacles confronting her.
Logan was able to enjoy life for the past 10 years but on May 2, 2026 she succumbed to the heart disease. Logan is survived by her daughter, Mackenzie Keller, heartbroken parents Noel Mayo (Andrew Creamer) and Victor Mayo (Linda), her brother Justin Matthews (Victoria), Uncle Ken Mayo (Lisa) and Cousin Krista Mayo. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents Albert and Ardis Chester, Celestino and Pauline Mayo, and Cousin Kyna Barnett.
A Visitation will be held for Logan on May 14, 2026, from 2PM-8PM, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 7PM, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, 48236.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Logan’s honor to the American Heart Association.
