

Loretta Jo Spindler, affectionately known as Lori, passed away on September 16, 2024 on her 70th birthday. Born on September 16, 1954, in Detroit, Lori spent much of her time living in Grosse Pointe Woods, where she created a beautiful life with her family.
Lori was the beloved wife of Paul Spinder for 48 years and a devoted mother to nine children: Scott (Catherine), Joanne (Dan), Jennifer, Jeremy (Tracy), Donte, John, Jazzmin, Hannah, and Antonio. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren. Lori and her husband Paul were foster parents for many years, lovingly taking in dozens of children at their greatest time of need.
Throughout her life, Lori was a pillar of strength and resilience. As a quadriplegic, she faced immense challenges with grace and courage, embodying the very essence of perseverance.
Her passion for quilting was well-known, and she lovingly donated her quilts to women’s and children’s groups, as well as many members of her local community. She was also an avid solitaire player, loved to take pictures, and spent hours in the kitchen making her famous spaghetti sauce.
She was a devoted follower of Christ, finding profound strength and solace in her faith. This devotion was present in every facet of her life.
Lori’s resilience, strength, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
