Marcie met her husband, Keith, about 35 years ago. They had a habit of running into each other by chance, and with a little nudge from mutual friends, those chance encounters turned into a lifelong partnership. From there, the two of them had their son, Erich.
As a devout Lutheran, Marcie was deeply involved in the churches she belonged to over the years, regularly attending Bible study groups. Her faith was not something she simply practiced but something she studied; she poured over Scripture on her own time, learning each passage and its contents.
Marcie's curiosity extended well beyond the sanctuary. She had a remarkable knowledge of plants, and rather than reaching for a common name, she just as easily rattled off a plant's Latin genus. In the kitchen, she was equally as accomplished, with a particular love for traditional French cuisine; her cooking went far beyond the basics, and she took real pride in doing things the proper way.
Marcie was also an exceptionally gifted seamstress. Give her a bolt of fabric and she could make almost anything — dresses, costumes, shirts, pants, you name it. She could draft her own patterns from scratch, and her skill and creativity showed in every piece she made. Sewing was just one expression of a broader gift for crafting that she poured herself into.
Music was one of Marcie's joys. She was a patron of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, attending performances multiple times each season, and her love of live music extended to rhythm and blues and blue-eyed soul, which she, Keith, and Erich enjoyed together whenever they could. She was also a lover of museums and history, keeping a season pass to Greenfield Village that she renewed year after year so she could enjoy spending time with her family.
Above all, Marcie was loved by everyone who knew her. She was warm, outgoing, and endlessly kind, with a gift for making friends wherever she went. Strangers became friends within minutes of meeting her, and it didn't matter who they were; young or old, lifelong friend or someone she'd just met in line, Marcie treated everyone with the same genuine warmth and interest. That same easygoing kindness showed itself in small moments too, like her willingness to be dragged along to car shows like Greenfield Villages’ Motor Muster show with Keith, and her son Erich, where she came to take genuine pride in sometimes driving their 1979 Dodge Magnum.
Marcie is survived by her husband of 30 years, Keith Dromowicz; children, Erich Dromowicz, and Stephenie (Steven) Thomas; her brother Terence (Amanda) Wills, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that all came to know and love her.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home located at 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI
