
from a broken leg. She was born in Detroit on July 23, the daughter of William and Marjorie
Mott.
Growing up on the eastside of Detroit, she met her future husband, Arthur
William Fowler Jr., at Denby High School. After their wedding, Margaret would
follow Arthur as he served in the military during World War II. The couple would
settle down in Detroit where they would spend 52 wonderful years of marriage, raising
three children, Barbara, Debbie, and Arthur. She was predeceased by her husband
22 years ago.
When her children were old enough, Margaret would work until the age of
84. She was a receptionist in a doctor’s office for 25 years and a Macy’s associate
for 14 years. She loved working and helping people. She also helped care for her
three grandchildren who lovingly called her Grandma Maggie.
Margaret is survived by her three children, Barbara, Debbie (Ron Maiuri),
Arthur(Mary), and her former daughter-in-law, Denise Fowler. She also leaves
three grandchildren, Ashley (Bryan Schulmeister)), Nicholas (Andrea Shafer),
Scott (Bridgette Crockett), and her great-grandson, Luke. She was predeceased by
her beloved brother, Bill. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sally, and 3 nieces
and 3 nephews.
She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
aunt, co-worker, and a friend to many and loved by all of them.
A private service will be held Saturday, May 2nd, and then Margaret will be laid to rest next to her husband in Traverse City, Michigan.
A memorial service will be held at a future date.
She will be forever in our hearts!
