Tina was an inspiration to me both professionally and as a friend. We met serving on the Council of Renal Nutrition for the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan. Tina was a leader in our profession who always strived to improve the nutritional care of patients with chronic kidney disease. It was obvious that her dedication to patients was rooted in her strong Christian beliefs. I am grateful for the privilege of knowing Tina and learning valuable life lessons from her. May she rest in peace.

Greatly saddened to learn that Ms. Christina Kilates has passed away. I have known Tina from 1976 when I began my nephrology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital. In her role as a  renal dietitian , she was already a very important member of the kidney diseases team. Our association continued for another 3.5 decades when I worked as a nephrologist at Henry Ford. She was a wonderful person to work with, great fun socially and a very good party planner. She used to bring delicious home-made items which were served and greatly relished at our weekly departmental meetings. May her soul rest in peace.

My most heartfelt condolences to Aunt Tina's  family and loved ones.  She was a lovely, warm, kind hearted, and generous individual. Her work as a renal dietitian was part of my inspiration to pursue renal dietetics as well. I was happy that she was able to share in my joy when I passed the exam earlier this year. She will be sorely missed by any one who had the chance to know her.
