Marietta Livernois of St. Clair Shores was born May 3, 1937 and entered into rest March 2, 2018 in Madison Heights at the age of age 80. She was the beloved wife of the late David and devoted mother of John (Maureen), Stephen (Lisa), Georgette (Paul), Thomas, Catherine (Donald) and Robert (Jeanne). Marietta was the beloved Grandma Mimi to Douglas, Gregory, Sarah, Matthew (Elizabeth), Stacey, Hannah, Luke, Emily, Brookelyn, Laura (Jonathon), Max, Jessica, Rachel, Ava, Drake, Dominic, and Natalie. She is also survived by many loving family and friends. Whether you knew her as Mom, Grandma Mimi, Aunt Mary, the lunch lady at St. Joan of Arc School or simply Mary, she was steadfastly devoted to so many people in her life, especially her late husband David, her children, and her grandchildren. In the words of the late Billy Graham, "The greatest legacy one can pass on to one's children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one's life, but rather a legacy of character and faith." The legacy that Mary leaves for her children and grandchildren is marked by her extraordinary kindness, willingness to help others, and unwavering commitment to her family. For many years, she was devoted to St. Joan of Arc Church. She loved gardening, canning peaches and pears, trips to the casino, and for many years, hosting sleepovers for her many grandchildren. She was a bright light in the world and will be missed. Visitation Sunday 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Rosary at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. 48236.
