Marilyn Pauline Beckett

Marilyn Pauline Beckett (nee Calcaterra), 75 passed away on Thursday, June 19th in Harrison Township, Michigan. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in education and taught kindergarden and first grade. She had a lifelong love of teaching others with patience and kindness. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Angelo and Rose Calcaterra and is survived by her children , Juliana Beckett of Westminster, CO and Jon Beckett of Rochester Hills; sisters Adele Brown of Louisville, KY and Emily Barth (John) of Avon Lake, OH; nephew and nieces; Greg Brown (Ligeia), Michele Holt, Julia McKinley and Jennifer Barth; including great nieces and a nephew.She is predeceased by former husband Lawrence Wilson Beckett. Visitation Monday, June 23rd 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan 48236. Funeral Tuesday, June 24th at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, 6021 Whittier Road, Detroit, Michigan 48224; instate 8:30 am until time of mass 9:00 am. Interment will be private at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan.
