He was born in Detroit on December 9, 1950, to James and Mary (Bruck) Dunn. He is survived by his loving wife Linda (Fennell) of almost 50 years; their sons Mark (Gabriella), Kevin (Meredith), and Brian; and grandchildren Jacob, Harper, and Ethan. He was the brother of Susan Givens (Jeff), Ellen Gancos (Tom), James (Nancy), and the late Kathleen. He was also a loving brother-in-law and uncle to many. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed having them over to celebrate any occasion.
Mark worked at GM Research Labs for nearly 41 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, fishing, baseball, bowling, and especially music -- playing guitar brought him joy until the very end.
His family would like to thank the caregivers at Sarah Care – Lakeside, and Veronica from Hope Senior Care for all their help and kindness to him.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, at A.H. Peter’s Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Mark will lie in state on Friday, February 10 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 22412 Overlake Street, Saint Clair Shores.
Memorial contributions can be made in Mark’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org), to provide care and support to families impacted by this terrible disease and accelerate research for a cure.
