My grandfather was a man who tried hard to do good and make the right decision. He loved us all, uncompromising, and we all knew it for sure. Maybe he wasn't a saint, but maybe he was? He was a silent strength to alot of us, even though we couldn't often see it, or touch it, but sometimes the strongest forces aren't seen or touched. Look at the wind. And then one day he blew into our lives. He loved my grandmother so much! He saved her, this is how i see it at least. He showed up in her life in the midst of terrible circumstances, and he saved her.... (continued)

(part two) .....I believe with all my heart when he entered into heaven he heard the Lord say, "Well done my good and faithful servant, you loved them, now inherit eternity!" And we all will miss you Grandpa. I have been thinking about you non-stop these past few days, and i cant help but feel such loss. And how my heart breaks for your wife, my grandmother. I cant imagine her pain. I loved my Grandpa Marv, Grammy. He will be missed by us all... The family lost its captain and we are all grieving together... I love you Grandpa, forever, Robert

My memories of my grandpa Marv are very happy ones. I remember him pulling me and Matt around on a sled in the "snow," i saw that because there was only about an inch of snow on the ground. But us being born and raised in California, it meant a lot to us. I remember I would always take his hat and wear it around. Every time I saw him without fail, I would grab his hat and he would have the biggest smile on his face. I guess that was sort of our thing. I am going to miss him a lot. This whole thing is still kind of a shock to me. Like it almost hasn't really hit me yet. I wish I was there with all of you to talk and share stories about Papa Marv. I'll miss you.

My deepest sympathy to Wendy, her mother and entire family. I am so sorry I missed the service, I just found out at 3pm that it was earlier today. You're all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

We are sorry for your loss. We are also sorry that we couldn't make it to the funeral home it is just a little to fresh from Ashlee funeral yet. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

I will always think of Marv as having a quiet grace, and fatherly sensibility that gave me a sense of assurance that everything was going to be all right regardless of the circumstances. I will remember him for his kindness and his quiet humor, and the ability to put things in perspective when situations were difficult. I am going to choose to incorporate his strengths into my own character. I am glad that I once knew a loving man and I see his reflection of his love in his family and friends.
