Mary Margaret Bendik

Mary Margaret Bendik was born in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania on January 23, 1927 the daughter of Martin and Anna Bendik. Upon graduation from Barnesboro High School in 1945 Mary joined her sister Anne in Detroit. Mary retired from General Motors in 1988 after working 36 years as a secretary. She enjoyed meeting fellow retirees for a monthly luncheon get together. Mary was a world traveler. With her sister Anne she visited all of the countries of Europe, Mexico and Hawaii. She liked solving crossword puzzles. Having never married she was a devoted aunt to several nieces and nephews. Mary was the beloved sister of Anne Galloway, Dorothy Tucker and Regina Ghidella. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Martin and Anna Bendik. The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to the Capuchins, 1820 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, MI 48201 or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 A memorial Mass for Mary will take place at a later date.
