Mary Pantano

Mary Pantano passed away at St. John Hospital in Detroit on April 7, 2016 at the age of 85. She was born on October 24, 1930 in Detroit; daughter of Salvadore and Dominica (nee Paradiso) Pantano. Ms. Pantano retired in 1985 from American Natural Resources as the executive secretary to the chairman of the board. Mary had a strong faith and was devoted to her church. Mary loved to cook and enjoyed hosting parties. Her love of people was equally matched with animals as she would feed any animal that showed up to her doorstep. Mary was predeceased by her parents and sister Fern Pantano. She is survived by her twin sister Corine (the late Chuck) Vomastek. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her beloved 14 year old cat Stella. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 pm. She will lie instate on Monday from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 467 Fairford Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jesuits, 2050 North Clark St., Chicago, IL 60614.
