Mary Anna Sheldon (nee Konarz) was born April 24, 1929 and entered eternal life on April 24, 2021 at the age of 92.

Mary Anna was born in Saint Louis, Missouri to her parents Leon and Lottie Konarz. At a young age, her family relocated to Twining, Michigan where she and her four siblings were raised. Following high school graduation, the local Catholic Church raised funds for Mary Anna to pursue her passion of music and the arts. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music and Art Education from Sienna Heights College, then an all woman campus. This was only the beginning of Mary Anna foraging a path for young women. Upon graduation, she was immediately offered a teaching position in southeast Michigan, where she taught for several years. During this time she married her husband Jack, a long time Saint Clair Shores fire fighter. Together, they created a life filled with travel, and were well known for hosting social events in their home and family holidays.

Following her brief time in teaching, she went on to pursue a life long career at Higbie Maxon Real Estate. Mary Anna was often referred to as the “Queen of Lakeshore Drive” in many Grosse Pointe real estate circles. One of her proudest moments was being featured in Detroit’s Hour Magazine as a top realtor.

Preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Lottie Konarz, as well as her siblings Regina Morgan (Herb), Raymond Konarz, Lawrence Konarz (Gladys), and Joseph Konarz. She is survived by her sister-in-law Reggie Konarz and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 PM with a Rosary at 7PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. A funeral Mass will be on Friday at 10 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48080.

I worked for MaryAnna as her driver for eight years, when I first went to work for her, I really wasn't looking for a job, but I was at the right place at the right time, little did I know that we would become such good friends, I always adjusted my schedule to accommodate her because, I was so fond of her. Love you to the Moon and Back my Dear Friend

I worked with Mary Anna when I was with Higbie Maxon Agney. Mary Anna was such a lovely, beautiful and kind woman. She was always willing to answer any of my questions. Peace to her family and all that loved her.
