

Mary Taitt (M.L.) passed away on Monday December 7, 2015 at Harbor Chase in Sterling Heights at the age of 93. She was born in Detroit the daughter of Clifton and Manie Langley. She married Dean Gordon Taitt and together they had two sons Keith (Mary) and Paul Taitt who survive her. Grandchildren Neil (Laura), Sarah Glick (Stephen), Graham, and great-grandchildren Rachel, Nathaniel, and Sophia also survive her. She graduated from Wayne University, now Wayne State University, with a bachelor degree. She was an elementary school teacher in the Detroit Public School System retiring in 1986. M.L. and Gordon travelled the world and for a year lived and taught in Guam in 1966. Mrs. Taitt hobbies included sewing, embroidery, and solving crossword puzzles. She loved to read and a favorite author was Jane Austin. M.L. would read and reread these novels throughout the year. She also did a lot of walking. M. L. enjoyed hosting holiday family gatherings at her home in Roseville. She also hosted the weddings of both her granddaughter Sarah to Stephen and that of her son Keith to Mary on the deck behind her house. Visitation for Mrs. Taitt will take place at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home on Sunday December 13 beginning at 6 pm until 8 pm at which time family and friends will be invited to share memories. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Roseville Public Library.
