Matthew A. Swegles

Matt brought optimism and balance to every endeavor, from his family to his clients, from his Church to his charities and occasionally, onto Lochmoor Club’s golf course. He also had the remarkable ability to make you feel like you were the only person in the room when he was talking with you.

A graduate of the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University and the Joseph M. Katz School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh, Matt joined the Roney Company in 1999 to begin his career in financial management. He later worked for UBS, and Comerica Wealth Management. He joined Raymond James in 2012, where he served his clients as Senior Vice President, Wealth Management from his Grosse Pointe office.

Matt is survived by his wife, Kate, and three daughters - Addison (13), Avery (2) and Alexandra (6 months). Predeceased by his beloved Uncle Brad, he is survived by his father, John E. Swegles III; his mother, Nancy Morello; and his ex-wife, Heather Catallo.

Actively involved with his Church - St. Paul on the Lake, the New Canaan Society and Detroit Athletic Club, Matt also served on the Board of Macomb-Feeding the Need, the St. John Guild and the Grosse Pointe Library Foundation.

A memorial service will be on Saturday August 22 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church, 157 Lake Shore Road, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236.
