Miss Schouman was my teacher in First Grade at DuBois School in Detroit in 1955. i will never forget how beautiful she was or how much I loved school because of her. She was a very special teacher. I just found my first grade report card and wanted to get in touch with her. Unfortunately, it's a little late to write or call her. But know your relative was adored by her students, and always did a wonderful job of teaching us.

Auntie, you were the glue for our family. You always put others and us first. We love you and will miss you greatly. Thank-you for all you did for us. Love Always, Peg, Mike and Ben

When Paul and I met the Schouman family, it was Aunt Maureen who first welcomed us with open arms. She opened her house, her heart, and her family to us. She always greeted us with a warm smile, a big hug, and genuine interest. She treated us as if we were a part of her family. She was a special woman and we will miss her (as we know you all will). Maureen, we were neighbors with you on beautiful Glastonbury/Rosedale Park for over 30 years. How we appreciated knowing you....and your Mom.....over the years! You were a most pleasant person with whom to chat, and we know you were a good teacher. To the family of Maureen, I was in the English Department at Cerveney Middle School with Maureen. She was, not only a beautiful person, but an outstanding teacher. Many students will remember Maureen for the lessons they learned about literature and grammar, and also the lessons they learned about life. Through Maureen's gentle demeanor, she instilled in her students the values and principles that have made them good citizens and morally based contributors to our great United States of America.
