

Mavis was the devoted wife of Roger F. Trapp for 58 years. Together they built a life centered on faith, family and lasting memories. She was a loving mother to Steven (Tonya), Kathleen (Rick) and Michelle and a proud grandmother to Riley, Karsyn, Lincoln, Izzac and Autumn who brought her immense joy.
Mavis is also survived by her siblings, Diana, Betty, Larry (Pam), Robert (Cherie), Sharon (George) and Deborah (Harold). As well as many cherished nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Leona, her sister Velda, her brother in-law Robert and nephew Spencer.
Mavis was born and raised in South Dakota. She attended Lincoln Grade School, Axtell Junior High before graduating from Washington High School. She later attended Humbolt University before moving to Michigan where she became a flight stewardess and shortly there after met Roger, became married and started a family. She dedicated herself to raising her children. As her children grew older, Mavis served the Harper Woods school community as a lunch lady and later helped operate the district’s latchkey program where she was known for her caring nature and friendly smile.
Mavis found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cooking and baking for her family gatherings, tending to her garden, taking walks through the neighborhood, reading, solving word finds and spending time at the beach. She especially enjoyed attending music concerts and sharing experiences with family and friends.
Above all, Mavis will be remembered for her kindness, dedication to her family, strong work ethic and the love she generously shared with everyone around her.
Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
