

Merry Jo Eleczko of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Salem, Ohio on June 7, 1942 to the late Donald and Beverly (nee: Berry) Wilson. Merry Jo is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years Ronald Eleczko. She is survived by her brother Brent (Debra) Wilson, and her 4 loving children, Ronald (Sarah) Eleczko, Beth (Douglas) Clingan, Sally (Seth) Botwick, and Jeffrey (Tina) Eleczko; her 12 beloved grandchildren, Allen, Emma, Elizabeth, Caroline, Nicholas, Sarah, Robert, Parker, Carson, Mason, Zachary and Marissa.
Merry Jo attended University of Akron School of Nursing and met her husband shortly after she started working at Mount Sinai Hospital. They were married in 1965 in Sebring, Ohio and spent most of the children’s formative years in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan where they lived for over 30 years. Merry Jo worked as an RN on the OB floor where she enjoyed working with mothers and babies throughout most of her lifetime.
Among her many interests were gardening, sewing, knitting, euchre and playing poker at the local senior center (The Helm). She loved hanging out at the pool with her friends and enjoyed family trips to numerous Lake Michigan destinations. She always enjoyed her unsweetened iced tea with extra ice and extra lemon.
Family and friends will be welcome to her visitation on Sunday, November 27 from 3 to 5 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 28 at 11 am at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI
