Michael A. Walkowiak

Michael A. Walkowiak, age 49, died unexpectantly on December 29, 2015 at the Wm. Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe. Michael was born on August 26, 1966 in Detroit, the son of Dr. Arthur and Nina Walkowiak. He grew up in Grosse Pointe Woods and was a 1984 graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School. Mike worked his way through college and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Wayne State University. After graduation Mike started working at Multi-Bank Services in Southfield. Multi-Bank Services is a bond investment brokerage company and he was a Vice-President at the time of his death. This was the only company he worked for his entire adult life. Mike enjoyed sports of all types. He was a member of the 1979 Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League World Series Team. He was involved with his children's activities and enjoyed singing, golf and bowling. Mike is survived by his loving children: Carly, Summer, Jackson and Mickey; and their mother, Joli Walkowiak; and his seven siblings: Nanette, Heidi, Mark, James, Richard, Sally, and Amy. He was predeceased by his parents; Arthur and Nina Walkowiak and his brother, Arthur. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 9:00 pm Sunday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday evening. His body will lie instate at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores from 9:30 am Monday until mass begins at 10 am. Monsignor G. Michael Bugarin will officiate. The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to Joli Walkowiak for the children's education.
