Milly S Neuder

Milly S. Neuder Grosse Pointe Shores resident, Milly S. Neuder, 80, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012. She was the beloved wife of Louis E. Neuder, and together, they were to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on August 23, 2012. She was the loving mother of Sherry (Jim) Bradow, Louis (Sue), and Carolyn (Keith) Kurtz, the dear grandmother of Kristen (Tim) Linley, Mike (Katie) Bradow, Susan (Tyler) Holsapple, Laura (Chad) Ott, Brad (Allison) Neuder, Julie Neuder, Lisa, Jeff and C.J. Kurtz, and as well as the proud great-grandmother of Emily Kate Holsapple. She is also survived by her beloved sister Irene (Chuck) Hathaway, as well as by many nieces and nephews. For many years, Milly was an active volunteer in Grosse Pointe, as well as the greater Detroit community. Her involvement began when she was a student at Michigan State University where she was in the Sisterhood of Alpha Omicron Pi, leading to her membership on the council of the Detroit Panhellenic Association, on which she twice served as President. More recently, she was also a member of the P.E.O. Philanthropic organization where she served in various leadership roles and made many dear friends. Through the years, Milly was active as a volunteer in the Grosse Pointe Public School System, St. James Lutheran Church, and Campfire, Inc. where she also appointed as President of the Board of Directors of the Detroit Chapter. In later years, she found time to work part-time as a financial bookkeeper in the family business, Arrow Trucks and Parts Company. Her hobbies included sewing, often making clothing from her own patterns, as well as knitting, needlepoint and playing bridge. However, Milly's greatest skill was her selfless gift of being a kind and patient listener to her family and many friends, and sharing her love and grace with all. She built life long friendships on Hutchinson Island, Florida, where she and her husband Louie spent the winter months. Most importantly, Milly cherished summers with her family at The Farm in Richmond, Michigan. Visitation for Mrs. Neuder will be on Sunday, August 19, from 2-6 PM at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. She will lie in state Monday, August 20 at 10:30 AM until the time of funeral service at 11 AM at St. James Lutheran Church, 170 McMillan, Grosse Pointe Farms, 48236.
