Monica A. Thompson

Monica Ann Thompson, age 80 of Sterling Heights, died September 18, 2016. She was born in Detroit on March 10, 1936; the daughter of Albert and Margaret (nee Burns) VanderMeulen. Monica was very talented at crocheting and quilting. When she wasn't working with her hands, she enjoyed shopping and antiquing. She had a great love for animals; especially her cats. Loving sister of Carole Prantera and the late Joan Martin. Dear sister-in-law of Thomas Martin. Caring aunt of Hugh (Terry Lunder) Martin, Gerald Martin, Michael (Michelle Richards), Patricia Martin, Ann Martin, Anthony (Maria) Prantera, Cheryl Myers, Kenneth (Sandi) Prantera and Joan (Gabrielle) McPherson. Also survived by many cherished great-nieces and nephews. Monica's family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 21st from 2:00pm until 8:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic, Warren. Instate Thursday, September 22nd at 9:00am until time of mass 9:30am at St. Blas Catholic Church, 12151 E. 15 Mile, Sterling Heights. Inurnment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
