I am so very sorry for your loss. I will not be able to come to the funeral home, but my heart is with you Anne and your family.

Dear Anne, The children and I were very sorry to hear of your loss of your mother. Although we never got to know Nancy, I feel in a way like we know a little bit about her from knowing you. The person you've demonstrated yourself to be... hard-working; good to your mother; a loving mother to your own daughter; determined; fun to be with; loyal and helpful to your family (including your extended family)... tells me something about those people who helped shape who you are. Of all the people who influence us, our parents are our first, earliest guides. They pour their dreams, frustrations, celebrations, angers and joys into us - offering us a wild mix to choose from.. It touched my heart that you were so willing to be present for your mother during her decline. I don't know whether you and all your sisters and brother were in the room with her when she passed on ... A friend of mine who works with the dying in hospice, told me that over and over again she saw a pattern of parents often dying when their adult children had stepped out of the room for ten minutes to make a phone call, or to get a cup of coffee after having spent many hours by their parent's bed. She became convinced it wasn't accidental ... that some people need that solitary moment in which to let go because they love their children in a way that makes it difficult to leave them, even though their own bodies or minds are failing. The grief we feel when loved ones go, as painful as it is, honors the wealth of not only those experiences that they gave that nurtured us, but also the negative ones that forced us to grow in new directions and knowledge. I know little of the relationship you had with your mother, but I can only assume from the loving concern you expressed when you last visited me that the upside outweighed whatever downside might have been there. The Chinese have a saying: One generation plants the trees, the other gets the shade. Through you, and I'm sure from the rest of your family as well, many people have received the fruits and the kindly shade of the efforts that this particular mother made, and for this we thank you, and her, and grieve your loss with you. Know that we are thinking of you and sending you our love.

I shall miss my dear sister and friend. We were unable to see each other because of health reasons but our hearts and love for each other never let that get in the way.

I will miss my dear sister Nancy so very much. We were kept apart recently because of health problems, but we never were kept away in our hearts or our love for each other. Nancy was the best big sister and I thank God for her. Nancy gave to the world her beautiful talents some of which were music, her special sence of humor, her love of God and country, and most of all her beautiful family. We will always be together through the spirit and we will reunite without health problems getting in our way. God Bless all of Nancy's family. Sorry my first e-mail lost the rest of my thoughts. To My Cousins, I am so sorry to here about the loss of your Mother. I just wanted to let you all know that Marco and I have you in our thoughts and prayers. We were glad we got to celebrate Aunt Nancy's 70th with all of you. With Deepest Sympathy, Cheryl and Marco Tiapago PS, I know that your mom was a great cook, I would love to carry on any of her traditional family recipes if you care to share by e-mail.

I am so very sorry. I know she is in the most wonderful hands now. Nancy is truly at peace now. My prayers are with the family.
