

Nancy Davidson passed away October 24, 2010 at 83 years of age. She was born in Detroit. Miss Davidson grew up in Lochgelly, Scotland where she completed the Higher Grade Commercial School. During WWII Miss Davidson worked at the Coal Board and Food Offices also located in Lochgelly, Scotland. Following WWII she served in the British Army in the ATS (Auxiliary Training Service). Miss Davidson returned to Detroit in January of 1951. She retired as an executive secretary from Massey-Ferguson after long term employment. In retirement she enjoyed local senior citizen activities. Miss Davidson also assisted a number of seniors with companionship and transportation. Miss Davidson is survived by her aunt, Donna Davidson (the late Robert) of Ohio: cousins Dr. William Davidson of Northville; Sandra (the late John) of Buehler, Ohio; Diana (James) Patrick of Ohio; Rebecca (William) Cates of Ohio; John Gibb (Isobel) of Scotland; Betsy Davidson of Traverse City; Jacqueline Timmerman (Steven) of Grosse Pointe Woods, James Armbruster (Kaye) of California and many other cousins. Lifelong friend of Mary Wilson of Scotland and long-time friend of Sonja & Hans Souter of Utica and Benjamin (B. J.) Jones of Detroit. Miss Davidson was preceded in death by her grandparents James and Agnes Davidson (Newall), her mother Margaret McGregor, her uncles William Davidson (Betty), James Davidson (Helen), Robert Davidson (Donna); her aunts Isabella Armbruster (Harry) and Helen Gibb (Robert). Miss Davidson was proud of her Scottish heritage and maintained her Scottish connections throughout her life. She was a devoted piper and enjoyed playing the bagpipes for her family and friends. Miss Davidson was very fond of cats and not only had several of her own over time, but cared for stray cats as well, at times getting them veterinary treatment. She was generous, caring and loved her family. A memorial service celebrating Miss Davidson's life will take place 1:00 pm Saturday November 6, 2010 at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. The Reverend Larry Austin will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Feline Friends, P. O.
