Neal Hakken, aka Neon Man, lived a colorful life. Born 11/16/43, died 9/25/24 at 81 years old. From his bike on Lake Shore Drive, the pool at the Neighborhood Club, the ring roads of Burningman, ringside of his daughter’s horse shows, the design table for everyday cars and lifesaving airbags, or on his self-made catamaran rowboat off the coast of Santa Barbara; the ripple of his life touched many. He is survived by his daughter, B. Heidi Hakken and granddaughter Edith. He enjoyed the journey.
A memorial service will be held September 25, 2025 from 4-7 PM with personal remembrance 5 at Neighborhood Club, 17150 Waterloo, Grosse Pointe, MI 48230 Food and beverage service, RSVP to [email protected].
