

She was born on August 25, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan- the youngest child of Alexander and Margaret Morad. After graduating from St. Theresa of Avila in Detroit, Nora attended the University of Detroit Mercy’s Dental Hygiene Program, earning her Associates Degree. She went on to a 47-year career as a dental hygienist, all while raising a family.
She met her soulmate, John J. Francis, while still in high school. They married in May of 1960, recently celebrating 65 amazing years together, surrounded by family and friends. Theirs was a unique partnership that bridged years of love, joy, sadness, and hopefulness. Nora was a devoted parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, sibling, and friend. She reveled in filling her home with family, friends, and neighbors. Nora was an amazing cook, and her Lebanese recipes will live on through the hands of her children and grandchildren.
Those who knew Nora will remember the way she made others feel seen and valued.
Nora is survived by her husband John, her children, Paul (Ginny), David (Joe), Diane, and Phillip (Jennifer), along with her grandchildren Brent (Nicole), Rebekah(Gabrielle), Brittany, Kaitlyn (Miccah), Alexandria and Parker and her great-grandchildren, Brooke, Jordan, Ellie, and John. As well as her brother Dr Edward Morad (Judy)
Proceeded in death by her parents Alexander and Margaret, as well as her siblings Alfred (Freda) and Marion (Sol)
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, from 2-8 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 29 at 10am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22415 Overlake St., Saint Clair Shores, MI 48080. Her family will receive guests at 9:30 am.
