Sorry to here about Mr. Melchoir. When I broke my leg during football practice in 1973, he, along with some of my teammates, carted me back an forth to the Orthopedic surgeon's office on a stretcher in a station wagon. Nice guy who cared about his players and students.

My condolences to the entire Melchoir clan. Mr. Melchoir was the best teacher I had at WHS and it was always a joy to run into him after graduation..which was 1964! We will have a special toast to him at our 50th Reunion this year.

I am very sorry to hear about Duke. I had many great memories playing baseball and football for him at Warren High (class of '85). He was also my math teacher. He truly enjoyed what he was doing.

Deeply saddened to hear of Duke's passing. Heartfelt condolences to his large family & many friends. Played baseball for Duke at Warren High from 1975-77 and have many fond memories to this day of his coaching techniques. Will never forget the subtle way he would point to 2nd base when he wanted you to steal. No fancy signs for Duke! Rest in Peace my Friend & Mentor!

I knew Duke as a teacher and coach. He was a fine person. He was a molder of young people and was a role model for both young men and women. He had a great rapport with his students and fellow faculty. He was highly respected by all. He will be greatly missed.

My condolences to the Melchoir family, and to all of the students and athletes Duke influenced over the years. His cheerfulness and willingness to help will always be remembered and appreciated. Macomb County has lost another of its greats.

My sincere condolences to Duke's family. I had the pleasure of knowing Duke through out my high school career. I worked for him when he ran the C.E.T.A. program. I not only had him as a teacher but I also played baseball for Duke. He was quite a person who will be sadly missed. Warren High Class of 1977.

Extending deep and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Duke Melchoir. I was an Accelerated Geometry student of his at old Warren High School during my 10th grade year and was also one of his football & baseball managers for all three years of high school. Later on, he also was a substitute teacher for me at Cousino High School. In addition to being a great teacher, Duke Melchoir also served on the City of Warren Parks & Recreation for many, many years and will truly be missed by all.

Heartfelt sympathies on the loss of your father/grandfather. Duke was one of the 'regular' substitutes at Macomb Mathematics Science Technology Center and our students knew him as "World's Greatest Grandpa" (a favorite sweatshirt of his he often wore!). Students and staff alike looked forward to his days with us. A kind and caring man. God bless.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mr. Melchoir taught me geometry at Warren High (Class of 1984). He was a good guy and I had great conversations with him. He allowed me to compile records for his coaching tenure at WHS baseball. He was a great guy.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time. I hope you can take comfort in knowing your dad is at peace now and he will be spending his anniversary with your mom.
