

Patricia "Pat" Brown passed away peacefully with her family at home on June 21st, 2012. She was born in Detroit, as the daughter of Ruth & Lawrence Patterson. Pat married the love of her life, Rod, on July 21st, 1956. Together, they had two boys, Douglas and Craig. Pat was described as the perfect mom who was both generous and caring. Always doing anything she could to help out her family. She was said to be a great 'confidante'. Pat was a great grandmother, who was very proud of her two grandchildren, Evan and Tessa. Pat was referred to as having a "thirst for knowledge". Whether it be reading up further on something that interested her, or taking classes at the College of Creative Studies and Wayne County Community College. She has always wanted to learn more about the things she loved. Pat loved to read. Staying up late each night with a book in hand was a favorite pass time. She had a passion for the opera as well as art. She was very artistic, using her talents to draw, paint, and take photos everywhere she went. She was known to be the one taking photos at every function and family event. Her creativity also showed up in her love for interior decorating. She loved to decorate rooms in her home. Pat has left behind her husband, Rod, after 56 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Douglas (Peggy), and Craig (Maria Fontana-Brown). She was a very proud grandmother of two, Evan and Tessa. Pat is also survived by her dearest sister, Marilyn Kinsinger and her sister-in-law, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her sisters, June (Kenny) and Verna, and her brother, Larry. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 25th at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. There will be visitation held on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
