Patricia Giroux passed away peacefully at home with family at her side on December 29, 2009. She was born on October 10, 1928 in Lapeer, Michigan; daughter of Lawrence and Florence Halpin. On August 26, 1950 Patricia married Rudy Giroux at Immaculate Conception Church in Lapeer. They had met a few years prior on a blind date at a Knights of Columbus Picnic. After their marriage, they raised their family on Detroit's East side in St. John Berchmans Parish. After Rudy's retirement the family moved to St. Clair Shores. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and Auntie "Pat" to numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed an occasional round of golf and would play Bridge with whomever was up for a game. She was predeceased by her husband in 2001. She leaves behind her loving children Dan (Jenn), Larry (Cassie), Mary Jo (Garry) Thoe, Fr. Peter FPO, and Barb (Walt) Mackey. She was proud of all 25 of her grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Theresa Hall; and predeceased by siblings Margaret, John, Betty, Francis, Thomas, Barbara, and Mary Jo. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 30, from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Peter will officiate. Mrs. Giroux will be buried next to her husband in Loretto Cemetery in Lapeer. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. John Seminary, 223 Paris St. #3, East Boston, MA 02128.
