Patricia A. Giroux

Patricia A. Giroux, age 70, died peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Four Seasons Nursing Center in Westland. She was born on June 30, 1946 in Detroit. She was a 1964 graduate of Bishop Gallagher High School in Harper Woods, the first graduating class of the new Catholic school. Pat was a legal secretary at Pitt Downey McGhee and Palmer in Royal Oak. She was a homemaker devoted to her family. She was involved in her children and grandchldren's lives. Her grandchildren fondly remember Grandma's candy drawer in her kitchen. She also enjoyed reading and vacationing in Caseville. Her Irish and Polish heritage were the foundation for her Catholic faith. Pat is survived by her children; Larry Giroux (Jennifer) and Lisa Behnke; her five grandchildren Jacob, Brayden, Daniel, Maggie and Bridgette; her mother, Margaret Tomas and brother, John Tomas. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 o'clock Monday evening. Her body will lie instate at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack at Overlake, St. Clair Shores from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until mass begins at 10:00 a.m. The family has suggested memorials contributions be made to Karmanos Cancer Institute, Contributions, 4100 John R, Detroit, Michigan 48201
