Patricia Ann Hedges

Patricia Ann Hedges passed away peacefully at St. John Hospital in Detroit on March 9, 2014 at the age of 75. She was born on December 7, 1938 in Detroit; daughter of William and Betty Jane (nee Sorenson) Saccoia. Mrs. Hedges loved her family dearly and realized the importance of having her family together as much as possible, especially on the holidays. She loved her children and wanted to ensure that they had equal happiness. She was known for her personality and it showed when she was around a karaoke machine. She loved Bingo, playing poker, and frequenting the casinos. Mrs. Hedges was predeceased by her husband Earl. She was proud of her eight children; Robert (Angela), Steve (Linda), Timothy (Suzanne), Patricia Carter (Allen), William, Stacy, Teresa, and the late Earl Jr. She is survived by her brother William Saccoia, and sisters Antoinette Ochoa and Jacqueline Guaiana. She leaves behind her 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Woods. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 am. Patricia will be buried next to her beloved Earl at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
